Throughout history, the fingerprint has been used as a unique and personal signature on pottery, as well as on important documents. Our mark making is an extension of ourselves so this really resonates with me- I put a piece of myself into each ceramic work I make.
I created ArtInSeattle.org because I desire to give others an avenue to express themselves through art, primarily clay. I believe that it is vital for people, especially children, to be encouraged to use art as a medium to process and convey their feelings.
My passion has led me to develop my own curriculum and teach ceramics, and other art classes, as well as develop products for those who might not have access to take a class. I hope the unique fingerprint of ArtInSeattle.org touches you and lights a fire for self expression.
